Weekly Classes for Teenagers
Teenage Contemporary Company is open to anyone from 12 – 18 years, with or without dance experience, this is a choreographic class in which students work under the direction of a professional dancer and choreographer. Drawing from a range of dance styles like Street, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, African and other world dance forms it is a challenging and rewarding platform for expression which will stimulate the senses and expand the imagination. Classes start with structured warm up exercises to develop strength, coordination and flexibility before moving on to dance language taught across the floor, leading to short sequences, which build to an end of term final choreography. Mondays 5.30 - 7.00pm Tutor: Francis Angol £75/term
MakeMoreArt. In these extended sessions students undertake more advanced art projects. The emphasis is on helping students to develop their own unique style, using a range of media including acrylics, oils, inks and watercolour. Classes can support GCSE and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Everyone who attends a regular class will be part of the MakeArt Exhibition at Islington Arts Factory in December. Age 12+ Wednesday 4.30 - 6.30pm Tutors: Ellie Pearce £80/term
Clay Level Two is a fun creative class that allows the students to work on increasingly sophisticated clay work. Developing their craft by working on intricate and detailed sculpture, clay is an amazing outlet for the imagination, creating something that is brought to life with glazing and firing. Everyone who attends a regular class will be part of the MakeArt Exhibition at Islington Arts Factory in December. Age 11+ Fridays 5.30-7pm Tutor: Kayley Holderness £85/term
Ballet and Contemporary Technique Classes. These small, friendly and welcoming classes will help teens develop their practice in Ballet and Contemporary dance, Whether they have no dance experience or plenty these classes are matched to ability and our wonderful tutor Hana will help them progress at a comfortable supported pace. All students who take part in our technique classes have the opportunity to take part our annual dance showcase Montage.
