What Director of Art Eleanor Pearce says about our art holiday workshops
We pride ourselves in setting out an ambitious overall vision for our intensive holiday art courses. Through working together as a team, the children can be part of an exciting large scale project that will form a key part of our MakeArt Exhibition at the end of the year.
During the week long course they will initially develop ideas in a series of colourful drawings. They will then work on creating a strong and sturdy structure for the sculptures. During the final phase they will experiment with different materials that might be appropriate for decorating the sculptures.
Our tutors are professional artists, who pass on their skills to the children. It is a great opportunity for the kids to enter in to a creative project in some depth. The results will show what benefits can be achieved by them really applying themselves over the course of a whole week!
There is always a great sense of camaraderie that builds up over the course of the week as the children work together to achieve their goal. It is a good opportunity for them to meet other like minded creatives and make new friends.
