 Merry Christmas from everyone at IAF! 2015 has been a special one here at Islington Arts Factory and we close the doors for our Christmas break today looking ahead with excitement for 2016! Islington Arts Factory will be closed from 23rd December 2015 - 3rd January 2015. We reopen on 4th January We hope you have a fantastic festive period and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Our Children's showcase exhibition is always such a highlight of the Arts Factory year. Just before Christmas the air and our galleries are filled with excitement as we hang all the fantastic creations our young people have worked so hard on. Every year we are completely blown away by the talent and creativity that springs to life as our Director of Art, Eleanor Pearce, curates the show. Today we have been hanging paintings, just a puppet theatre and an 8 foot ceramic tree to go. Its going to look so fab by Friday!  This years exhibition is even more special, because not only do we have great work from our outreach projects at Tufnell Park and Hugh Myddleton Primary Schools, but at the opening on Friday there will be an extra special performance of Gothic Gargoyles by our Children's Contemporary Company around the showcase Creepy Castle sculpture. And Islington Mayor Richard Greening will be officially opening the exhibition.  It promises to be a great event, but if you can't make it the work will be on show until we close for Christmas on 23rd December
