New Teenage Art Weekend Classes

At Islington Arts Factory we believe passionately in the importance of learning from the art of the past and drawing from life.
We have just launched some new weekend workshops for teenagers: Drawing in a Gallery and Drawing a Portrait. These intensive sessions will help young artists to develop their drawing skills and broaden their artistic vocabulary.
Anyone one aged 12 - 18 welcome!

Drawing in a Gallery

Visit some of the UK's most respected collections, learn to look closer at art through drawing in the galleries, with the guidance of a profession artist. We will develop drawing skills and dissect the processes of great artists by looking how they tackled composition, light, form, and subject in their masterpieces.

Saturdays 12 noon 4.00pm

Drawing a Portrait

Spend an intensive day working directly from the model to improve your portraiture skills. Experienced portrait artist Ellie will lead you in exercises to help you explore proportion, the structure of the head and capturing a likeness. Drawing from life is rewarding in it's own right but also gives a strong foundation for all art forms.
